When do trainees earn their first certification?

Trainees earn their first certificate after successfully completing their first training module. Here's how certification works across each phase:

  • Phase 1 (Home-Based AI Training): STELLA AI assesses initial performance, customizes the training path, and issues a verified badge upon completion of the first module.
  • Phase 2 (AR/VR Immersive Simulations): Users unlock additional module-based certifications as they complete more advanced, interactive training.
  • Phase A (Final SharedStars HQ Training): Trainees earn their final spaceflight certification after passing in-person mission evaluations, followed by graduation and Space Seat assignment.
How many certifications can trainees earn before Phase 2?

Trainees can earn up to 5 certifications in Phase 1 (Home-Based AI Training) before advancing to Phase 2 (AR/VR Simulations):

  1. Physical Training Certification: Strength, Endurance, & Zero-G Adaptation
  2. Technical Training Certification: Spacecraft Systems, Navigation, & Diagnostics
  3. EVA (Spacewalk) Certification: Suit Operations, Safety, & Repairs
  4. AI-Guided Simulations Certification: Mission-Based Crisis Decision-Making
  5. OSHA-Spaceflight Safety Certification: Emergency Protocols & Compliance

After completing these 5 certifications, trainees unlock Phase 2: AR/VR Training Simulations for full immersion into advanced modules.

How do trainees move from Phase 1 to Phase 2?

Progression through the training program is flexible and personalized:

  • Trainees do not need to fully complete a phase before advancing. They can work on multiple training modules across different phases simultaneously.
  • STELLA AI recommends when they are ready for AR/VR training based on their progress in Home-Based AI Training.
  • Trainees unlock Phase 2 once they earn at least 3 certifications and meet AI progress benchmarks.
  • AI evaluates readiness when trainees have completed at least 3-5 module certifications, scored above 80% on AI-readiness evaluations, and achieved a minimum leaderboard rank threshold.

The AI will suggest next training paths, but trainees can choose to continue Phase 1 modules while starting Phase 2.

How many parts does each training module have?

Each module has three levels of training, progressing from home-based learning to in-person astronaut simulations:

  1. Home-Based AI Training (Phase 1-2): AI-driven theory lessons, self-paced skill-building, and AI feedback with virtual challenges.
  2. AR/VR Training (Phase 2-3): Virtual reality-based hands-on simulations, AI-led mission drills in Zero-G environments, and simulated space navigation & problem-solving.
  3. SharedStars HQ Training (Phase 4-5): In-person astronaut training with real equipment, final EVA spacewalk simulations, and leadership & survival training.

For example, the EVA (Spacewalk) Training module spans all three levels:

  • Home-Based AI Training: Learn EVA safety, suit operations, and NASA procedures
  • AR/VR Training: Simulated spacewalk missions with haptic feedback
  • SharedStars HQ Training: Full-body EVA suit training & real space habitat exercises
How long will it take to complete all home-based training?

The estimated time to complete Phase 1 (Home-Based Training) is approximately 6-9 months, though this depends on the trainee's individual pace.

STELLA AI evaluates weekly progress and recommends pacing adjustments based on your performance. Trainees who train consistently could finish faster, while others may take longer depending on their schedule and learning style.

Our AI system can provide a personalized training timeline estimate for each trainee based on their progress and engagement patterns.

What happens after completing all home-based training?

Once a trainee completes all home-based training modules:

  • They qualify for AR/VR headset shipment (Meta Quest 3)
  • They unlock Phase 2 (AR/VR Immersive Simulations)
  • STELLA AI adapts training difficulty based on their past performance

To unlock VR Training (Phase 2), trainees must:

  1. Complete all home-based modules
  2. Earn at least 6-8 certifications
  3. Achieve a minimum leaderboard rank & AI readiness score
  4. Pass STELLA's VR Readiness Evaluation
Can trainees work on multiple modules at the same time?

Yes! Trainees can work on multiple training modules concurrently. STELLA AI tracks progress in each module separately, and users can train in different modules across multiple phases simultaneously.

For example, a trainee might be working on Technical Training in Phase 1 while also doing VR-based EVA Training in Phase 2.

This flexible approach allows trainees to focus on areas of interest or challenge while maintaining progress across the entire program.
